At The Moon Group Foundation, volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission. Whether you’re handing out bikes, mentoring youth, or supporting events, your time and energy help us transform lives, one meaningful act at a time.
When you volunteer with us, you’re not just giving back—you’re investing in brighter futures, spreading hope, and standing with youth and families facing real challenges. From college students in need of scholarships to children affected by parental incarceration, your support makes a tangible impact.
Why Volunteer?
Ways to Get Involved
- Program Support: Help with distribution days for our Building Bosses, Balls, Books, and Bikes. Whether wrapping gifts or passing out bikes, you’ll be bringing smiles to kids’ faces.
- Mentorship & Education: Support our scholarship applicants by offering essay-writing tips, financial literacy coaching, or career guidance for young students.
- Event Volunteering: Assist with planning, managing our annual events, giveaways, and community outreach activities. These events are joyful, high-impact opportunities to connect and serve.
- Professional Services: Are you a business expert, educator, or nonprofit leader? Lend your knowledge through pro bono support, youth entrepreneurship mentoring, or advisory services.
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome individuals, families, school groups, corporate teams, and faith-based organizations. Whether you have a few hours or a long-term commitment in mind, there’s a place for you here.
Volunteers must be 16+ (minors may participate with parental permission or adult supervision depending on the role).
Volunteer Requirements
- Background Check: A background check is required for all volunteers who work directly with children or minors.
- Orientation: All volunteers attend a brief orientation session about our mission, programs, and procedures.
- Commitment: We ask for a minimum 3-month commitment to ensure consistency for the families we serve
- Reliability: Volunteers are expected to attend scheduled activities consistently to ensure dependable support for our programs
- Heart for Service: A genuine passion for helping youth and families overcome challenges is essential for all volunteers.
Training and Support
We provide comprehensive support for all our volunteers:
- Initial Orientation: Learn about our mission, programs, and the communities we serve
- Role-Specific Training: Get the skills and knowledge you need for your volunteer position
- Ongoing Support: Regular check-ins with volunteer coordinators and opportunities for feedback
- Recognition: Annual volunteer appreciation events and acknowledgment of outstanding service
- Professional Development: Opportunities to gain new skills and experience
